Some say Canasta is similar to Mahjong - and we've play that too.  We've also played Apples-to-Apples, Palace, Oh Hell, Liar's Dice, Shogi, Blokus, Munchkins, Napolean, Wise and Otherwise, Smart Ass ... What will we play next?

A significant portion of the Canasta Club members somehow find themselves majoring in CS, whether it be their original major or one they eventually switch into.  In Fall 2011, over 6 members ended up taking the same CS61C class.  4 of them lived in the same building.  Suggest meet up times to study or do homework here.

Once upon a time, it was Shin's birthday.  Perlin baked a cake, but that was soon forgotten in light of Haotian and Kevin's more cursed gift: LoL

As of currently, various members of Canasta Club usually play "League of Legends" about every Friday 10pm 'till after 10pm.

    Probably the beginning of our many spontaneous excursions to come.  Most (if not all) our movie nights have occured on Fridays as last minute decisions.  Our first movie night consisted of a sudden decision to go watch "Inception" at the UA.  Our second movie night was again Inception, only this time at Wheeler.


     Later movies we watch included but are not limited to Harry Potter, The Matrix, Theater Rice,  Black Swan, Donnie Darko,  Harry Potter, Pi, and The King's Speech.

It's not just pineapples - canned pineapples! Must have pineapples every week, meaning weekly Safeway or Target runs at least once a week.  And no salting the pineapples Haotian!

Some live off of trading.  Some don't believe the market exists.  And yet our club owes its existence almost entirely to a 700% gain in stocks from investing its initial ASUC funding.

The Canasta Club plays tennis every Friday before the meeting from 5-7pm on Hearst. Tennis is usually followed by dinner at the Asian Ghetto (and usually at least 1 person orders Chicken Yaki Udon from Sushi House).

     Out of necessity, trips are probably a tad less spontaneous, though it's unlikely we actually plan them more than 2 weeks in advance.  Ideas are always welcome.  Cheap is preferable but we aren't exactly poor either... we just have no budget.



     Where have we been? Where should we go next? Is there anywhere we haven't visited in the Bay area? Perhaps it's time to travel further...
